This is the Wiki for information and history related to Mobius Mirrored, a Sonic the Hedgehog RPG. It's a unique brand of entertainment that allows fans of the Sonic the Hedgehog universe to let their narrative skills play the game for them. We're a bit different than some text-based RPGs, though: instead of freeform, we have adapted a story lead, or Game Master/Moderator. As moderating members becomes more necessary to manage a large group of players, you might see this method overtaking pure freeform RP more frequently. The GM structures a complete tale from beginning to end, giving both choice and direction in the role playing environment. The primary role of the GM is to ensure no player gets left behind, that there are no surprise plot twists that conflict with another player's story goals, and that the story moves along smoothly with good dramatic structure. That said, you are more than welcome to bring your storyline ideas! Once approved, we will help you see them to fruition!
Since want to remain true to the Sonic the Hedgehog video game, you may see use of item boxes, rings, star posts or springs in action-based stages. Zones with alliterative titles and Chaos Emeralds, and even really bad puns run rampant on occasion - you know, the good stuff. Item upgrades are planned to make an appearance. And, like any Sonic game (with the exception of Sonic & Knuckles), there will be no direct reference to previous games. This saves all of us the headache of "what games count as canon?" debates.
Additionally, we understand there is a limited number of canon video game characters worth playing to most of us. To make up for the limited options, we permit original characters and Archie characters within reason. They will be introduced just like new game characters. They will be complete strangers to the canon game characters, and the canon characters will be new to your character.
Where do you play?Edit
The group meets primarily here . We also meet in chats on AIM, which is why we highly encourage applicants to use AIM or Meebo. However, you do not have to be an AIM user to participate in the forums. It just makes communicating easier. Likewise, you do not have to be a member of the forums to participate in the chats. Those that do not participate in the main forum activity can join as part-time users (people who participate in side stories). Even if your application to join the main story is denied, you may still be eligible for a part-time membership, so be sure and let me know if you are interested! The chats will also be home to what we call "Character Development," non-action sequences between stages of the game, so you should generally stick to your own character or NPCs (non-player characters) when participating there.
